11-Year-Old Boy Injured in Shooting Following Minor Traffic Collision on Chicago’s West Side
A shocking incident of road rage turned violent has left an 11-year-old boy injured on Chicago’s West Side. The shooting occurred during rush hour on Friday morning, following a minor traffic collision.
According to the Chicago Police Department, the incident took place just before 8:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of North Western Avenue in the West Town neighborhood. Two vehicles were involved in a minor crash, and as one driver exited their vehicle to exchange information, the other driver
reportedly produced a firearm and opened fire.
The 11-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the vehicle being fired upon, suffered a gunshot wound to the hand. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he is listed in good condition.
The shooter fled the scene in an unknown direction, and authorities have not released a description of the suspect or the vehicle at this time.
