19-Year-Old Felipe Acuna Fatally Shot in Sparks, Nevada; Investigation Ongoing
SPARKS, NV — A late-night shooting in Sparks has left the community reeling after 19-year-old Felipe Acuna, a resident of Reno, was fatally shot during a confrontation in a parking lot near 440 Greenbrae Drive on Friday, June 28, 2025.

According to the Sparks Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire around 11:25 p.m. at the scene of a gathering. Investigators believe an altercation between Acuna and the suspect escalated, leading the suspect to pull out a firearm and open fire.

Felipe Acuna was struck multiple times. Emergency crews arrived quickly and administered aid before transporting him to Renown Medical Center, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and the suspect’s identity remains unknown. Detectives are actively investigating and are urging the public to come forward with any information that could aid the case.
