Beloved Barrel Racer Donna Kay Rule Leaves Lasting Legacy

A tragic accident at the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) has claimed the life of renowned barrel racer Donna Kay Rule, leaving the rodeo community and her loved ones in shock and grief.

Donna’s life was a testament to her passion, resilience, and devotion to her family. Growing up in a rodeo family, she was inspired by her father, Don Frederickson, a bronc rider and team roper. This early exposure laid the foundation for her successful career in barrel racing.

As the owner and operator of National Saddlery in Oklahoma City, Donna, along with her husband John Rule, created custom saddles for PRCA champions. Her family was her rock, and her children, Marshall and Kayla, were her greatest pride.

Donna’s transition to competitive barrel racing was sparked by an injury to her horse, A Juicy Adventure, in 2017. She then focused on High Valor, a horse she had purchased as a four-year-old. Together, they achieved multiple awards and recognition, cementing her legacy in the rodeo world.

Donna Kay Rule’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will live on through her family, friends, and the countless lives she touched throughout her remarkable career.
