Two people were found dead inside a residence near the Ritz-Carlton Residences in Chevy Chase on Thursday evening, according to authorities.
Around 6:30 p.m., Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service crews responded to a welfare check at a home in the 8500 block of Connecticut Avenue. Upon entering the residence, officers discovered the bodies of a man and a woman. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not yet determined the cause and manner of death. The bodies have been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for autopsies. Investigators have not disclosed any additional details about the circumstances surrounding the incident but have stated that more information, including the identities of the victims, will be released once the next of kin have been notified.
