Hartford, CT — A funeral service at the Gospel Lighthouse Apostolic Church on Main Street turned violent Friday morning when a dispute between family members escalated into a melee involving gunfire and a stabbing.

Hartford police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired inside the church around 10 a.m. Approximately 150 to 200 people were attending the funeral at the time. Upon arrival, officers found no victims at the scene, but shortly thereafter, a woman arrived at a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot graze wound, and a man presented with a stab wound, also considered non-life-threatening.

Investigators recovered two firearms from the scene and noted that several rounds had been fired inside the church, causing property damage. Gunfire was also reported outside the building. Police believe all individuals involved have been accounted for, and no arrests have been made as the investigation continues.

The incident underscores the potential for violence even in solemn settings and highlights the importance of security measures during large gatherings. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as they work to piece together the events leading up to the altercation.
