BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A devastating early morning crash in Bakersfield has claimed the life of Raul Inguanzo Jr., a respected and hardworking tow truck driver known for his dedication to helping others. The fatal collision occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, near the intersection of northbound Highway 99 and Rosedale Highway.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Inguanzo Jr. was on duty and assisting a disabled vehicle on the shoulder of the highway when tragedy struck. While he was outside of his tow truck, another vehicle reportedly lost control and crashed into the scene, triggering a multi-vehicle chain-reaction. Inguanzo Jr. was struck during the collision and suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

CHP officers shut down the area for several hours as they worked to clear the wreckage and launch a full investigation.
