PALM DESERT, CA — A 76-year-old man who was the subject of a Silver Alert in Palm Desert has been safely located, the California Highway Patrol announced late Saturday night.
Joe Fagan was last seen around 5:30 p.m. Saturday near Country Club Drive and Willow Ridge, prompting concerns for his safety due to his age and potential cognitive impairments. Authorities issued a Silver Alert to assist in locating him.
The CHP confirmed that Fagan has since been found, but in keeping with protocol for missing persons cases, no further details regarding the circumstances of his recovery were released.
The Silver Alert program, managed by the California Highway Patrol, is designed to quickly disseminate information to the public regarding missing elderly, cognitively impaired, or developmentally disabled individuals, particularly in cases involving unexplained or suspicious disappearances.
Officials thanked the public for their attention and assistance in helping to ensure Fagan’s safe return.
