Hollywood, CA – June 30, 2025 — A pedestrian was struck and killed Sunday night in a hit-and-run crash on a busy Hollywood street, prompting a police investigation and a search for the fleeing driver.
The incident occurred around 9:03 p.m. at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Gardner Street, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer David Cuellar.
Emergency responders arrived quickly, but the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not yet been released, pending notification of family.
The driver did not stop and fled the scene. Police have identified the suspect vehicle as a blue Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV.
A FOX11 news report from the scene showed a white canopy erected near the intersection, shielding the victim’s body as investigators processed the crash site.
