The Springfield, Tennessee community is mourning the untimely loss of two young men, Andy O. Hernandez, 22, and Jonathan J. Palafox-Pacheco, 20. Both were graduates of South Haven Christian School—Andy in 2020 and Jonathan in 2022. On March 27, 2025, they tragically lost their lives in a multi-vehicle accident on Whites Creek Pike in Nashville.
Circumstances of the Accident
At approximately 7:50 a.m., a 2023 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Robin Bernard, 70, of Portland, Tennessee, was traveling southbound on Whites Creek Pike. Bernard failed to navigate a curve near Sycamore Creek Road, causing the vehicle to cross into the northbound lanes and collide with a GMC Sierra pickup truck. A dump truck, also traveling southbound, attempted to brake but was unable to avoid hitting the Malibu. Palafox-Pacheco was pronounced dead at the scene, while Hernandez was transported to Skyline Medical Center, where he later passed away.
