Baylor Butler Obituary: Stevie Carter, 26, Tragically Killed in Accident Near Porter

In the early hours of March 24, 2025, a tragic accident on the Muskogee Turnpike near Porter, Oklahoma, claimed the lives of 31-year-old Baylor Butler of Muskogee and 26-year-old Stevie Carter of Gore.

The driver, 22-year-old Johnnie Dourssette, sustained critical injuries and was transported to a Tulsa hospital for treatment.

The collision occurred around 4:28 a.m. at the 17-mile marker, involving a 2013 Ford Fusion driven by Dourssette and another vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle reportedly left the scene uninjured.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) is investigating the circumstances leading to the crash, but no further details have been released regarding the cause. The accident resulted in the closure of westbound traffic on the Muskogee Turnpike for over four hours as emergency crews worked to clear the scene and assist those involved.
