On Sunday, March 16, 2025, Milwaukee resident Brenisha Butcher, 33, tragically lost her life in a shooting outside Bar 107 Sports Bar and Grill, located near 107th and Granville Road. The incident occurred around 1:40 a.m., also injuring her 30-year-old sister, Brittney, who was hospitalized for her injuries.

Brenisha was a devoted mother of four and the owner of a daycare business. Family members remember her as someone who was always smiling and had a passion for dancing. Her cousin expressed profound grief, stating, “I just miss my little cousin, she didn’t deserve this, not at all. We don’t understand it. It’s really hard and it’s real difficult.”

The shooting has prompted the bar’s owner, Alpesh Patel, to announce the permanent closure of Bar 107. Patel cited concerns for public and employee safety following the incident.

Bar 107 has a history of police activity, with over 500 call log entries since August 2016, including incidents involving fights, battery, and previous shootings. In 2017, two revocation complaints were filed against the establishment, though they were not processed for various reasons.

Milwaukee police have arrested a 30-year-old woman in connection with the shooting and are seeking additional suspects. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Milwaukee Police Department at 414-935-7360 or Crime Stoppers at 414-224-TIPS.

Brenisha’s untimely death adds to the city’s concerning homicide statistics, marking one of at least 20 reported homicides in Milwaukee this year. This reflects a 9% decrease from the same period last year and a 33% decrease from two years ago.

The community mourns the loss of a beloved mother and entrepreneur, as authorities continue their investigation into this tragic event.
