A student at Cypress Springs High School in Cypress, Texas, was hospitalized following a stabbing incident that occurred on Wednesday morning. According to Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District (CFISD) officials, the altercation took place around 11:15 a.m. in a school restroom.

In response to the incident, the campus was placed in “secure the building” mode, restricting entry and exit while campus and district police conducted their investigation. The suspect fled the scene but was later apprehended by CFISD police, who also confiscated a knife.

The lockdown was lifted around 1 p.m., and the district commended students and staff for adhering to safety protocols during the incident. CFISD emphasized the importance of discussing with students the prohibition of weapons on campus and encouraged reporting any unsafe situations to school authorities.

This event follows a similar incident in December 2024, when a student was stabbed with scissors during an altercation at the same school. The condition of the injured student from today’s incident has not been disclosed, and the investigation is ongoing.
