Fatal Accident Claims Life of Bluffton Resident Endy Rodriguez
A devastating single-vehicle accident occurred early Sunday morning, December 8, resulting in the tragic loss of 37-year-old Endy Rodriguez, a resident of Bluffton. According to Beaufort County Deputy Coroner Andrew McNece, Rodriguez succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.
The accident happened around 2:59 a.m. on U.S. Highway 278 at Gumtree Road. Lance Corporal Brittany Glover of the South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that Rodriguez was driving a 2011 BMW westbound when he lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the road and struck a tree. Rodriguez was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Despite medical personnel’s best efforts, Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the hospital. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is actively investigating the crash to determine the specific factors that led to this fatal collision.
