The Pomona community is grieving the tragic loss of three family members—1-year-old Ezra Aziel Espinoza, 29-year-old Jazmin Guadalupe Ramos, and 39-year-old Raquel Moreno—who perished in a wrong-way crash on the 60 Freeway. Family members have identified the victims, noting that both Jazmin and Raquel died instantly at the scene, while Ezra was rushed to the Children’s Hospital of Orange County but was taken off life support after showing no signs of life.
The accident occurred late Saturday night, March 22, when a driver traveling east in the westbound lanes collided head-on with the victims’ vehicle near Reservoir Street. The suspected DUI driver, identified as 24-year-old Rick Rodriguez of Pomona, suffered minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
In the wake of this devastating loss, the family has established a GoFundMe campaign to assist with funeral expenses and support the victims’ surviving relatives. The fundraiser has already raised over $44,000, reflecting the community’s outpouring of support.
The Pomona community has come together to support the grieving family, offering condolences and assistance during this challenging time. The victims are remembered for their beautiful, kind souls, and their loss has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew them.
