HUMMELSTOWN, Pa. – June 27, 2025 — The Hummelstown community is grieving the devastating and untimely loss of Kolbe Straw, a beloved husband, father, and dedicated worker, who passed away unexpectedly in a tragic accident. Kolbe was just 32 years old.

SUPPORT THE FAMILY - GOD BLESS YOU

A man known for his strength, work ethic, and unwavering devotion to his family, Kolbe leaves behind his loving wife, Paige Straw, their young daughter Izzy, and an unborn child due in September. The loss has left a deep void in the lives of all who knew him, as family, friends, and colleagues come to terms with a life cut far too short.

Kolbe was a general foreman at Enerfab, Inc., a journeyman millwright with Millwright Local Union 443, and also worked with Goss Forestry, LLC. His commitment to his craft was evident in everything he did. Known for his hands-on expertise and quiet determination, Kolbe was respected in his field and admired for his integrity, loyalty, and grit.

He studied welding and construction management at Harrisburg Area Community College, and was a proud graduate of Lower Dauphin Senior High School. Those who knew him say he carried the values of his hometown with him—working tirelessly to build a life of stability and love for his family.

At home, Kolbe was a devoted family man. He cherished his wife Paige, their daughter Izzy, and had been eagerly preparing their home for the arrival of their second child. Friends say he had been working night and day on home renovations, pouring his energy into creating a warm, safe space for his growing family.

Now, in a cruel turn of fate, Paige faces life as a widow at just 32 years old—28 weeks pregnant and left to raise their children without the man who was her partner, protector, and best friend.

In response to the tragedy, loved ones and members of the community have come together to support the Straw family, launching fundraisers to help cover funeral costs, home repairs, and maternity leave. The outpouring of love is a testament to the impact Kolbe had on those around him.

Kolbe was widely known for his kindness, quiet generosity, and humble spirit. He was the type of person who showed up—whether to lend a hand on a project, offer support to a friend, or simply brighten someone’s day with a laugh or kind gesture.

“He was the guy who would do anything for you, and you’d never have to ask twice,” said one close friend. “He didn’t talk about being there—he just was there.”

In his personal life, Kolbe was full of heart. His joy in spending time with his daughter, his deep love for his wife, and his connection to those around him will remain in the memories of all who knew him. His presence was steady and comforting, and his absence is now a source of deep sorrow.

As Hummelstown mourns, many are choosing to focus not just on the tragedy of Kolbe’s death, but on the beauty of the life he lived—a life defined by love, loyalty, and purpose.

Kolbe’s legacy will live on in his children, in the values he instilled, and in the countless lives he touched.

A memorial service is expected to be announced in the coming days.

The community continues to rally around the Straw family, holding them in prayer and love during this unimaginable time.

Rest in peace, Kolbe Straw. You were a light to many, and your memory will endure.
