LINCOLN, NE — A serious injury accident occurred at the intersection of 27th Street and O Street, resulting in a 35-year-old female sustaining massive head trauma. Emergency crews responded swiftly, with units E2, E9, T1, T8, M2, M10, and EMS1 on location at 22:32.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found one vehicle overturned on its side. Firefighters from Lincoln Fire and Rescue (LFR) initiated triage and stabilization efforts as they extricated the critically injured patient, who was described as a category red trauma patient. The patient, who was found with agonal breathing but still had a pulse, was promptly transported to Bryan West Medical Center. A trauma alert was issued.
The patient was identified as a 35-year-old woman who suffered severe head injuries, with potential for rapid sequence intubation (RSI). A pelvic binder was placed to stabilize her condition during transport. Additional stable patients were assessed on scene, though it is believed only the 35-year-old woman will require transport.
