Deadly Shooting Occurs at Amazon Distribution Warehouse in Greenfield
A fatal shooting took place early Friday morning in the parking lot of the Amazon Distribution Warehouse in Greenfield, according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of gunfire at approximately 1:45 a.m. at the facility located near the Marion County/Hancock County line.
Upon arrival, deputies found 39-year-old Isaac Riley, of Indianapolis, lying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A suspect, who remained on-site with his hands raised in surrender, was immediately taken into custody without resistance. Authorities have not released the name of the suspect at this time.
According to the sheriff’s department, the incident appears to be an isolated altercation between two individuals, with evidence suggesting the shooting may have been in self-defense.
The investigation remains active as authorities work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the shooting.
