DEDHAM, MA — A late-night shooting in the parking lot of BJ’s Wholesale Club on Providence Highway has left 20-year-old Jaylani Cole of Brockton dead, sending shock and grief through communities in both Dedham and Brockton.

The deadly incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday night. According to Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey, Dedham police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire in the area. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Cole suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency responders quickly rendered aid and transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

At this time, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active. Authorities are working to piece together the events that led to the fatal shooting.
