It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lisa Pender, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished daughter, and esteemed professor. Lisa passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice on Thursday, March 20, 2025, in her 50th year.
Her departure has left a profound void in the lives of all who knew and loved her. Lisa was the beloved wife of Wayne Pender and a devoted mother to her cherished son, Braden. She was a source of unwavering love and encouragement to her family, always putting them first in every aspect of her life.
As the dear daughter of Ivan and the late Marlene Touesnard, Lisa grew up in a home filled with love, warmth, and strong values, which she carried throughout her life. She was also a cherished sister to Louise and John Townsend and a proud aunt to Alyssah and Lindsay, both of whom she adored deeply.
As a loving sister-in-law to Jason Pender and an aunt to Mathis, she extended her kindness and warmth to every member of her family. Lisa’s professional career was marked by dedication and passion.
For 20 years, she served as a professor at Mohawk College, where she was not only a mentor to her students but also an inspiration to her colleagues. Lisa had a remarkable ability to connect with her students, guiding them with knowledge, patience, and compassion.
Her enthusiasm for education and her unwavering commitment to her profession left a lasting impact on all those she taught and worked with. Her influence extended beyond the classroom, as she was always eager to support and uplift those around her, ensuring that her students and peers reached their fullest potential.
Beyond academia, Lisa had a deep love for figure skating, a passion that spanned over 30 years. As a dedicated figure skating coach, she not only trained young athletes but also instilled in them values of perseverance, discipline, and teamwork.
She found great joy in seeing her students excel and took immense pride in their accomplishments. Her commitment to coaching was a testament to her belief in the power of dedication and hard work.
Lisa’s presence at the rink was one of warmth, motivation, and encouragement, and she will be remembered fondly by her fellow coaches, students, and the figure skating community as a whole.
Lisa’s life was one filled with kindness, selflessness, and a genuine love for people. She was known for her infectious smile, her positive outlook on life, and her ability to brighten any room she entered.
Whether in her role as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, professor, or coach, Lisa gave her all to those she cared about. She was a beacon of strength, always offering words of wisdom and encouragement to those in need.
The family will honour Lisa’s life with visitation at Hyde and Mott Chapel, R.H.B. Anderson Funeral Home, Ltd., located at 60 Main St. S, Hagersville. Visitation hours will be held on Friday, March 28, from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday, March 29, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
A memorial service will be held at Hagersville United Church, 34 Main St. S, Hagersville, on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 2 p.m. Friends, family, colleagues, and students are invited to attend and celebrate the remarkable life of Lisa Pender.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice or Hagersville United Church in Lisa’s memory. These organizations held a special place in her heart, and contributions in her name will continue her legacy of kindness and generosity.
