
ROANOKE, VA — Authorities are searching for 24-year-old Rayjuan Antonio Calloway, who is accused of fatally shooting his father, 57-year-old Israel Calloway, during a domestic altercation on Saturday in Roanoke.
Roanoke Police responded to reports of gunfire around the 900 block of 7th Street Northwest, where they found Israel Calloway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police quickly identified Rayjuan Calloway as the primary suspect in the shooting. He fled the area and is believed to be driving a white Honda Accord with Virginia license plate VTA-7996.
Authorities have urged the public to not approach Calloway if seen, as he is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to immediately contact the Roanoke Police Department.
The incident has left the community stunned, as investigators continue to determine what led to the fatal family dispute. A motive has not yet been released.
