Missing 71-Year-Old Garden Grove Man Found Safe After Silver Alert Issued

GARDEN GROVE, CA — A 71-year-old man who was reported missing earlier this week from Garden Grove has been safely located, authorities confirmed Saturday.

Martin Smith was last seen around 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday near Westminster Avenue and Clinton Street, prompting concern from family and local authorities. In response, the California Highway Patrol activated a Silver Alert on behalf of the Garden Grove Police Department to assist in locating him.

While details surrounding how or where Smith was found have not been disclosed, officials confirmed that he has been safely reunited with his loved ones.

The Silver Alert program, administered by the CHP, is designed to quickly disseminate information about missing persons who are elderly, developmentally disabled, or cognitively impaired, with the goal of aiding in their swift recovery.

Authorities thanked the public for their attention and support during the search.
