Queens Woman Fatally Shot in the Head; NYPD Investigating Possible Personal Connection

QUEENS, NEW YORK — A tragic shooting in Queens on Sunday evening has claimed the life of Chenille Ramsey, a 45-year-old Jamaican national living in New York, leaving her community reeling and police searching for answers.

According to the New York City Police Department (NYPD), officers responded to reports of gunfire in a residential area of Queens late Sunday night. Upon arrival, they found Ramsey with a critical gunshot wound to the head. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Investigation Underway
Authorities believe the shooter may have been someone personally known to the victim, though no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made as of Monday morning. The motive for the shooting remains unclear, and the investigation is still in its early stages.

“At this stage, the investigation is active and ongoing,” said an NYPD spokesperson. “We are exploring all leads and urge anyone with information to come forward.”
