KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A shooting in the early hours of Saturday, June 28, 2025, has left three men injured and prompted an active investigation by the Kansas City Police Department (KCPD).

The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. near the 4800 block of E. 24th Street, close to Lister Avenue, where officers responded to multiple reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, police discovered three adult male victims, each suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were quickly transported to a local hospital and are currently listed in stable condition.

Early reports mistakenly indicated a possible fatality, but authorities have since confirmed that no deaths resulted from the shooting.

The events leading up to the shooting remain unclear. No suspects are in custody at this time, and police have not yet released descriptions or details regarding potential assailants. Detectives were seen canvassing the neighborhood throughout the morning, gathering witness statements and reviewing any available surveillance footage to reconstruct the timeline of events.

While officially being treated as a shooting incident, authorities have not ruled out the possibility of it escalating into a homicide investigation, depending on the outcome of the victims’ recovery and new evidence.

In a statement, KCPD emphasized their commitment to identifying those responsible and urged the public to assist in the investigation. Tips can also be submitted online or through the P3Tips mobile app. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
